How do I set up my technician profile?
Tap the Settings tab (gear icon) → Technician Profile → tap the + button to add your profile. Set it as primary so your name and EPA cert # appear on every PDF.
How do I generate a PDF for a service log?
Open any service log → tap the ··· menu in the top right → Generate PDF. Once generated, you can share it or email it directly from the same menu. PDF generation is available on all plans including free.
Why can't I advance past the Leak Check step?
If a leak was found (Leak Check Result = Fail), the following fields are required by federal regulation and must be completed before saving: detection method, leak location, repairs performed, and post-repair verification test type. This enforcement is intentional — these fields are legally required per 40 CFR §84.
What does the "EPA Report Required" alert mean on the dashboard?
This appears when the total refrigerant added to a system in the past 12 months exceeds 125% of that system's full charge. Under 40 CFR §84.110, the equipment owner is required to report this to the EPA by March 1 of the following year. This is a notification for your records — you should inform the equipment owner.
My iCloud sync isn't working. What should I check?
First, make sure you're signed into iCloud on your iPhone (Settings → Apple ID → iCloud). Make sure 608Log has iCloud access enabled (Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Show All → 608Log). Also ensure you have available iCloud storage. If problems persist, email us.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → 608Log Pro → Cancel Subscription. Your data remains intact and you'll keep access to all free tier features.
How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase, then open 608Log → Settings → Restore Purchases. Your subscription will be restored automatically.
What's the difference between R-22 thresholds and HFC thresholds?
R-22 (an HCFC) is regulated under the older Section 608 rules (40 CFR §82), which have different annual leak rate thresholds than the new AIM Act ER&R Rule. 608Log applies the correct threshold automatically based on the refrigerant type you select. For comfort cooling, R-22 is 15% while HFCs like R-410A or R-454B are 10%.
Can I delete a log I created by mistake?
Yes. Open the log → tap ··· → Delete Log. Logs are soft-deleted (flagged as deleted) rather than permanently removed, which is consistent with the 3-year record retention requirement. The log won't appear in your list but remains in your iCloud data.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your service records are stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to your records. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
